Once you have invested in a mattress and foundation that will provide quality comfort and support, we suggest that you follow a few basic care guidelines to keep it in good condition.
- Support your new mattress set -use a sturdy bedframe. If it is a queen of king size set, make sure your frame has the required extra center support that will prevent bowing or breakage.
- Use a proper foundation. If you did not purchase a matched mattress/foundation set, be sure that the foundation you use is new and of comparable quality and size. Failure to use proper foundation results in abuse of the mattress and may lead to unsatisfactory performance and damage, and it may invalidate the warranty.
- Don't bend or fold. The top quality innerspring unit inside your mattress has a series of connected coils and border wire. Folding this type of unit can cause damage. This does not apply to a mattress or foundation is made of entirely soft material (such as foam or cotton), or one that is designed to fold.
- It's a bed, not a trampoline. Your new sleep set is not designed for children to use as a trampoline. This type of roughhousing could do damage to the interior construction and is not considered a manufacturer's defect.
- Use a protective mattress pad. A good quality, washable mattress pad and/or soil shield is a must to keep your set fresh and free from stains.
- Dry cleaning is harmful. The chemicals in dry cleaning agents or spot removers lnay be harmful to the underlying materials. We strongly recommend vacuUlning as the only method of cleaning. If you are determined to tackle a stain. use only mild soap and water and do not soak the mattress.
- Please, no boards. It is never a good solution to put a board between the mattress and foundation. It may enhance the sense of support for a while, but it will only make the problem worse over time. If any bed in your home has reached this stage, it is considered worn out and should be replaced.
- You may experience body impressions. It is not uncommon for a mattress to take on body impressions up to 1", especially in today's more heavily upholstered mattresses. Following the proper procedure for turning and flipping your mattress can help to minimize or even eliminate these.
